Lake Biwa’s western shore
Follow the western side of Lake Biwa from Omi-Maiko toward Shirahige Shrine, Imazu and Makino. Mix waterside stops with the tree-lined road at Makino Pickland. View Shirahige’s offshore torii from the shrine’s designated viewing area and do not cross the busy road to reach the water.
